What breakdown cover is available to me?
Breakdowns always come at the worst times, but we’re here for you when you need us most.
What to do if my car breaks down?
We know it sounds annoying, but really, just stay calm – it happens a lot and help will be on the way shortly. Here’s a little checklist to help keep you, and everyone else on the road, safe:
- Turn your hazard lights on
- Make sure you’re safely off the road
- Exit the car through the left-hand door
- Wear a hi-vis if you have one in the car
- Walk your warning triangle about 60 paces behind your vehicle (unless you’re on the motorway, in which case stand well away from the road at all times)
- If it’s dark outside or visibility’s poor, keep your sidelights switched on
- Only after all this should you call your breakdown service
If you're with Flow and you've broken down here's the details you'll need:
What’s What3words and how do I use it?
What3words is an incredibly accurate mapping system. It uses three words (you guessed it!) to find out your exact location to within 3 metres, anywhere in the world.
You can save both yourself and your breakdown provider a whole load of trouble by finding out exactly where you’ve broken down using the What3words website or app.
So, instead of shouting out whatever the first three words are that come into your head when the car stops, check out What3words!
What are my breakdown cover options?
Different providers will offer different amounts of cover, so it’s worth doing your research. The last thing you want is to find out you’re not covered by your insurer, for whatever reason.
If you have Flow Annual breakdown cover, you can choose to be insured from anywhere:
1. In your local area
2. In the country
3. Within Europe
Depending on which option you choose, you could be provided with a replacement hire car, alternative transport, or overnight accommodation (if for any reason we’re not able to fix your car the same day).
Whenever you need us, we’ll have your back but remember to take care of your car in the meantime. Check out our handy car maintenance checklist and have a read of our what3words page for more information.
